My valley has a rust stripe — is it failing?

Rust means the galvanization is done and the metal’s clock is running. It’s the perfect moment to rebuild — before it perforates and the decking under it starts drinking.

The leak is where my porch roof meets the house. Typical?

It’s the most Kentucky leak there is. Nine times out of ten the step flashing was shorted or face-sealed during the porch build. A proper weave fixes it permanently.
