The County

Wolfe County is the quiet southern gateway to the Red River Gorge. Campton, the county seat, sits just off the Mountain Parkway; Hazel Green holds down the county’s other corner; and between them runs a lot of ridge farmland, timber, and — increasingly — cabins built for the climbing and hiking traffic that comes through for the Gorge. For us it’s close-to-home territory: the run from Beattyville is short enough that a Wolfe County call gets treated like a local call, because it basically is one.

What Roofs Face Here

Ridge-top exposure and hollow-bottom damp, often on the same property. Wind coming across the open ridges works shingle edges and rattles older metal panel roofs until fasteners back out — a metal roof that hums in a storm is telling you something. Beattyville to Campton is a short, familiar drive — generally well under an hour even to the far side of the county, and often much less. That means Wolfe County storm calls get real priority: emergency tarping here is close enough that we can usually beat the next band of rain. Rural access is standard for us — gravel, creek crossings, steep drives. Close. Beattyville and Campton are neighboring-county seats, and the drive is one of our shortest. Practically, that means same-week scheduling for most repairs and fast tarping response in storms. We’ll always give you an honest arrival window when we schedule — and if weather or roads change it, we call.

You work on old barn metal roofs?

Yes — resealing seams, replacing backed-out fasteners, patching rust-through, and re-securing panels the wind has lifted.
