Roof Repair

Roof Repair

Most roof problems don’t need a new roof. A leak, a lifted flashing, a run of backed-out screws — these are repairs, and repairs are what we do. Based in Beattyville, serving the Red River Gorge region.

The big crews want to sell you a replacement, because that’s where their money is. Our money is in fixing the actual problem for a fraction of that, doing it right, and being the number you call for the next twenty years. Shingle or metal, house or cabin — if water is getting in, that’s our job.

How We Find a Leak

Water lies. It gets in at a nail hole near the ridge, runs down a rafter for fifteen feet, and drips onto your ceiling nowhere near the actual problem. Chasing the stain instead of the source is how people end up paying for the same “repair” three times.

So we work backwards: start where the water shows, get on the roof, and check the usual suspects uphill from it — penetrations first (pipes, vents, chimneys, skylights), then flashing, then fasteners, then the field of the roof itself. When we find it, we show you a photo of it before we fix it. You should never have to take a roofer’s word for what’s up there.

Leak Repair

Water shows up far from where it gets in. We trace the leak to its source, fix it, and photo-document what we did — so you know exactly what you paid for. Most leak repairs are done in a single visit.

Flashing & Chimney Reseal

Chimneys, walls, valleys, and additions are where roofs actually fail. We reseat, reseal, or replace flashing before the framing under it rots.

Metal Roof Screw Replacement

Metal roof screws back out and gaskets dry up over time — every hole becomes a future leak. We re-fasten with oversized screws and fresh gaskets, panel by panel.

Storm Damage

After wind or hail: tarp-up and emergency dry-in first, then honest documentation for your insurance file. If your roof is fine, we’ll say so and leave you a photo record.

Skylights & Vent Boots

Cracked pipe boots and failed skylight seals are two of the most common — and cheapest — leaks to fix. The rubber on a pipe boot dries out and splits years before the roof around it wears out. Catch them early and the repair stays small; ignore them and you’re replacing decking.

Repair or Replace? An Honest Answer

Sometimes a roof really is done — decking soft in multiple places, fasteners that won’t hold, repairs stacked on repairs. When that’s what we find, we say so plainly, show you the photos that prove it, and you can bid the replacement out to anyone you like, including us. What we won’t do is sell you a whole roof to fix one valley. In counties this small, our name is worth more than any single job.

Roof Repair Questions

How much does roof repair cost in the Red River Gorge area?

Every roof is different, so we don’t quote blind. Send a photo of the problem and where the property is, and you’ll get a call back with a straight answer — including “that doesn’t need us yet” when it’s true. [MARCOS: once you have real job history, add a typical price range here.]

Can you fix a metal roof without replacing it?

Usually, yes. Most metal roof leaks come from backed-out screws with dried gaskets, failed flashing, or a damaged panel — all repairable. We re-fasten with oversized screws and fresh gaskets and reseal the trouble spots.

How fast can you get to my property?

We’re based in Beattyville, so Slade, Campton, Stanton, Booneville, Irvine, and Jackson are all roughly 20–35 minutes out. Richmond is about 45. For an active leak, call — a phone call gets the fastest answer.

Do you work with insurance claims after a storm?

We document damage honestly with dated photos your insurer can use, and we never inflate a claim. If the storm didn’t actually hurt your roof, we’ll tell you that and leave you the photo record anyway.
